Guidelines for Guest Bloggers

By submitting a guest blog post for publication on rtor.org you are agreeing to the following terms:

  • www.rtor.org does not accept payment to publish sponsored content. There is no charge to publish a guest post on our website.
  • Guest bloggers may only submit their own original work that has not been previously published on any other website, forum, chat, or social media network.
  • By submitting original content to www.rtor.org you attest that you are the author of that content or have the author’s permission to share it on this website.
  • Guest bloggers may publish the first paragraph of their guest post on another website with a link to the original post. If you wish to publish your article in full elsewhere, we ask that you refrain from doing so for 3 months after it is published on www.rtor.org.
  • www.rtor.org is a website for families and individuals interested in topics of mental health treatment, care, and recovery. We ask you to keep this audience in mind when writing content for us.
  • Guest posts should be between 700 and 1200 words.
  • Guest posts should be written for a U.S. audience with American spellings.
  • Please include a 1-3 sentence Author Bio with your submission.
  • When quoting others, please cite sources, with appropriate links included.
  • Guest posts on medical and/or clinical topics, such as psychopharmacology, must be written or reviewed by a qualified and credentialed health professional and cite valid, appropriate sources.
  • Third party links must be relevant to the topic and approved by the editors of www.rtor.org.
  • Please do not use the main article portion of your post to directly promote any products or services you are involved in marketing or providing.
  • Guest bloggers may include links to their website, blog, or social media accounts in the Author Bio section of the post.
  • We do not publish content or link to websites promoting the sale of CBD or cannabis products, supplements, alcohol, gambling, adult content, or ED drugs.
  • www.rtor.org reserves the right to edit or remove a guest post from our website at any time. We also reserve the right to add appropriate links to guest posts and remove any inappropriate external links.
  • www.rtor.org will provide appropriate images for the post. Guest bloggers may submit their own images, provided they can furnish proof of ownership or right to use.
  • www.rtor.org encourages guest bloggers to promote their guest posts on their own website, Facebook, Twitter, or other social media accounts.
  • www.rtor.org will share and promote guest posts on our social media platforms but does not guarantee any particular site or audience reach.
  • Please do not send us unsolicited guest posts. If you are interested in writing a post for www.rtor.org, please send us a topic proposal first, by clicking the button below. If we like your idea, we will let you know how to submit a post.
  • We cannot guarantee that articles submitted to us as guest posts will be published on our website. The quality of writing and messaging of the content are important to us. In some instances, we decline a submission for not meeting our standards in one or both of those areas.
